Overview

Minchukallu Betta Trek Karnataka a sprawling hill located roughly 85 kilometers from Bangalore, may not be a top destination for trekkers, yet its historical significance as a once fortified three-stage hill is undeniable. The remnants of its fort walls and temple add a sense of wonder to the trekking experience.

Commencing from Masanipalya village, which sits 18 kilometers away from Tumkur, marks the starting point of this adventure. Alternatively, one can access the hill from the Hoskote region of Tumkur, where its carved hemisphere presents a striking sight. From Masanipalya village, the sight of the stepped multilayered hillock sets the stage for an exciting journey.

Within the first kilometer, trekkers may encounter charming streams, particularly during the monsoon season. At times, they might even find themselves traversing water canals to reach the base, adding an element of excitement to the trek.

Upon reaching the summit, trekkers are treated to magnificent views of the surrounding hills, including Jenukallu Gudda, Hoskote Timappa Betta, and the Devarayana Durga hills. Additionally, they can enjoy an aerial perspective of Hoskote Lake and its environs. At the hill’s peak stands a Hanuman Temple, a site occasionally visited by local villagers for worship, though the hill remains mostly deserted at other times.
